SYNTH Vol. II [Quiet Storm Edition]

This feels like the bridge between Robin Thicke and The Weeknd, even if it shows no predilections towards the former’s craven Pop pandering or the latter’s tales of sexual vampirism, ever spiraling into madness like so many Escher staircases. Really just under-the-covers music for the next time you and your boo are floating through the vacuum of intergalactic space.

PARTY’s flow always feels so organic, and this track is no exception. Can we call this Trap-Jazz & B? *consults with judges* Looks like the judges have accepted the submission and all further PARTYNEXTDOOR entries will be categorized as such. Feels like a 2AM cruise through the metropolis.

A producer hailing from Australia, Ta-ku is a maestro of the midnight emotional palate. This somehow manages to feel celebratory, wistful, and forlorn simultaneously. String Theory for the sanguine hearts.

The zenith of the newly christened genre of Trap-Jazz & B. Probably my favorite soundscape of 2012. This is the soundtrack for swimming naked in a pristine pond, nestled away in a cave whose entrance is obscured by a waterfall. Just how I feel. The waterfall could be inside the cave. I’m open to discussion on the proper interpretation.

Bonus: Yuna- Falling: https://soundcloud.com/yunazarai/yuna-falling

I’m late on this joint, and there’s no embed option, but this is that lucid dreamscape music.
